Fantastic day had by all.
Started with a spot of shopping for Peta at Tanjent. This is a place I will dedicate a post to. But in brief , my new favourite shop spot. For ladies like me who like to buy champagne on a beer income its a dream come true.
Scanlen and Theodore silk pants.$95
Helmut Lang Tshirt (with tag attached)$40
Gary Castles thigh high riding boot $100.
Result-Skipped out of there singing" boomsy-arty, boomsy-arty."
Totally grateful for over indulgent middle class women with a compulsive shopping habit.
Moving on.
Next stop CHRISTIES BEACH.Named after a beautiful friend of ours..
Situated half hour south of Adelaide.A surf spot that rarely breaks, but when it does every single surfer( within facebook radius) of Adelaide is there. It was a perfect afternoon .The sun was shining.
Ten years or so ago, like most beach spots, you could have bought a beach front property here for a song.
Due to the rif raf."Dole bluggers and druggies"was the term used.
If only we saved our money instead of smoking it..tee hee..I think we were the rif raf they are refering to.
Ruggered and beautiful. Most of Adelaide coastline is like this.
Blue skies shining on me |
and the sun was preparing to set over the ocean.such a beautiful sight.in queensland we dont have the pleasure.
if only i had wings...and a zoom lense. |
Time to go. |
One of Adelaides best kept secrets..only it isnt. The walls were lined with awards. And it was packed. You need to book or be prepared to wait.
Nothing fancy about this place. At all.
Except the food.Taste sensation. And as cheap as chips.
Clear tofu short soup + Salt and Pepper Tofu+Asian greens.
BBQ crispy skin chicken+steamed rice+chinese deep fried bread.=$45.Bargin.
Spats is another Adelaide icon in King William Road.Just a stumble from home. This joint has been here for years.
A magical place dimly lit with velvet booth intimate seating. As private or as social as your date requires.
Yummy desserts cocktails coffees and nibbles. We felt 15 again, snuggling in drinking a frangelico for me and a mulded wine for John. And a nut sundae..This is a place we intend on taking all our friends...port and chess on a winters night..
you'll have to wait and see the inside for yourself. |
nut sundae. |
