6 months,8 years and 2 days.

Saturday afternoon.Close the shop, jump in the ute and head for the coast.Just like that, fresh off the Coke ad.

Johnny had organised everything.all i needed to do was pack my clothes.something warm,it gets cool.something cool,it gets hot.something wooly it gets freezing..

Yorke Peninsula, South Australia

This was really exciting as I have heard so many stories over the course of 8 years that where filled with memories of Surfing fishing and camping trips with friends to this amazing location.

300 kms west of Adelaide is the start of Innes national park.

For thousands of years before European settlement, the traditional owners of the Yorke peninsula were the Narungga people.

Thats our turn.Cool little cabin down by the beach.
$80 for the night and had its own bathroom and shower .
Esky full of gourmet goodies and some cold G and T's.

Day one ...lets go exploring...

close up you will see how ironic this photo is...

The place is magical and the beauty is ruggered.I took a million photos and it is so hard to choose which to post,so i will post them all.
Enjoy the view.

There was at least 25 of these beautiful dolphins surfing the waves.
and not another soul around .

Kangaroo skeleton..
Day two blends through now.
spot of fishing.

These gorgeous little sleepies are everywhere. The warm weather brings them out to find their mate.
we were constantly dodging them on the road.very cute harmless little creatures.
spot of reading..whilst the husband is fishing..

and surfing..

Pondalowie Beach.

Leaving Pondie these guys were in the car park.
Next stop Daily heads.

This is the show of a true fighting spirit. The little guy didn't stand a chance if we were a danger to him.But he believed in himself..
Unfortunately, due to nature taking its course, there were quite a few casualties due to the mating hunt. One part of the road we drove along there were two of them trying to cross the road.Of course,my romantic mind assumed that it was husband and wife trying to get back to her place. It was touch and go there, but they made it to the other side..

See johns finger..

The deadly brown snake. She was digging in the hole on the side of the road.

                                                                   And thats Yorkes folks.
A very special place .I can see what all the fuss is about now.The perfect spot to dissapear to... far away from everything....no phone reception either....just me,the husband 6 months 8 years and 2 days.

 the end.x
