The museum of Economic Botany was opened in 1881,and ironically it is significant as the whole entity has survived.Inside and out.now unfortunately I have just realised my photo of the outside of the building didn't work so i can't show you that now but i can say the building is still identical only the surrounds are even more beautiful.No pathway,just luscious green grass and trees.

The volunteers did explain to me that the museum was a source of information,at the time,for new settlers in Adelaide.They could find the information and seeds required to start their veggie patches and farms.Being new Australians,the settlers were used to living in very different climates so this resource was necessary.

Wander through the SA Water Mediterranean Garden displaying plants from the five Mediterranean climates of the world or go native in the Australian Native Garden.
Feature gardens include the, the Class ground, the International Rose Garden and National Rose Trial Garden, the Eremophilia Garden, the Cactus and Succulent Garden, and cycad and palm displays.
In addition to the buildings and plant collections, the garden has permanent and temporary public installations by South Australian artists and designers such as Fiona Hall and Khai Liew. They also regularly feature international artists. The Ginkgo Gate by Hossein and Angela Valamanesh is an exciting addition to the Garden of Health and Western Entrance.
You can have a casual meal in one of our cafés or go all-out with a fine dining experience at the Botanic Garden Restaurant. On a sunny day, bring a picnic and snooze the afternoon away on one of our lush green lawns......

So I didn't want to bore you with all the Trivia,but this place is pretty amazing.

Strelitzia.I can't get past the range of blooms.its incredible.

Now,we enter the bamboo garden.Obviously the carvings in the bamboo trunk aren't a natural feature of the plant,but to my surprise there also wasn't a sign erect saying not to ..Adelaide is very supportive towards the arts in its city..so if you can't beat them,join them.

these were perfect little bells with a green spot around each drop.cute as.

this is the Palm house imported from Germany in 1875 and was given a tickle up in 1995.What a beautiful building and the succulent garden surrounding it is spectacular.
